Heartfelt care, a comforting smile, the warm touch of a hand…The love and pleasantries of a cozy family environment abound at Prairieview Lutheran Home, the original component of the Lutheran Home for Aged Development Corporation.

 Opened in 1974, this skilled nursing facility offers a combination of 48 private and six semi-private rooms for men and women. Our residents are genuinely encouraged to bring treasured mementos and favorite pieces of furniture to personalize and to enhance their rooms.

Alzheimer’s and Like Dementia  
A very special place for very special people. Faith Place is “home sweet home” to senior adults who are caught in the grips of Alzheimer’s and like dementia.

 Faith Place is the only architecturally designed unit in the area with specific built-in-features to meet the medical, emotional, and physical needs of those with impaired cognitive skills. In a warm, consistent environment, each day focuses on the safety, enhanced self-esteem, independence and dignity of our residents.

 The staff and physical layout of Faith Place, a 32-bed dedicated unit, are intertwined to offer the structure, opportunity, and encouragement for individuals to embrace and to appreciate each day. “Achievements,” no matter how small, are the link to our residents’ smiles, their tender touch, and their engaging expressions.

 Without a doubt, there is hardly a dull moment in this secured “little piece of the world.” All aesthetic and physical elements have been incorporated to offer peace-of-mind, familiarity, and a sense of belonging. Every day, residents have access to a fully equipped kitchen, where, with the assistance of a staff member, they can bake bread and cookies, wash and dry dishes, and fold  … all to stimulate their feelings of self-worth, to enhance their senses, to increase their appetites, and to stir up landmark, residents have the security of being able to identify their rooms upon entering them.

 Importantly, the natural daylight, oval-shaped, airy floor plan of Faith Place allows residents the freedom to walk the unit with the safety of always being able to return to their spot of origin.

 All Faith Place programs have been developed in conjunction with the Southern Illinois University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.

Independent Living
Freedom to come, go, or stay as you please with friends close by for a fun game of cards and stories… Independent senior adults enjoy the luxuries of their golden years amidst the warm neighborhood environment of Luther Place. Opened in 1985, these active adults devote their time and energies to their family, friends, and fun … not to household chores or to tiring “honey-do” projects.

Luther Place, the first independent living facility of its kind in central Illinois, consists of nine single occupancy and 12 double occupancy suites, all with baths and showers, an emergency alert system, individual thermostat controls, cable TV, and attractive window coverings. All utility expenses (except telephone) are included in the reasonable monthly rate. Residents are wholeheartedly encouraged to decorate their suites with their own furnishings and special touches.

Senior Housing

A beautiful place in the country … that is the precise description of Prairie Haven, a rental community of six duplexes enveloped by the rich farmlands of Buckley. Prairie Haven offers independent senior adults the carefree lifestyle they deserve in retirement without the burdens of home ownership. No grass to mow, snow to shovel, gutters to clean, or leaves to rake. Just precious time to enjoy the pleasures of life that only a small rural community can share. These are the moments that make one smile and warm the heart.

 Residents of Prairie Haven must be at least 60 years old, active, and capable of mentally and physically caring for themselves. Whether the retirement lifestyle of choice is to kick back and relax or to be on the go-go-go, Prairie Haven offers a beautiful place in the country that fits any desire.
